EV Charger Installation & Service
1. Site Survey
We begin with a quick survey of the property to confirm:
The existing consumer unit (fuse board) capacity
The distance from the board to the charging location
The best cable routing (garage, driveway, outside wall, car park, etc)
This ensures the installation is safe, compliant, and cost-accurate.
We confirm everything before work begins, so there are no surprises or hidden costs.
2. Electrical Design & Load Calculation
We check the available supply and calculate the maximum safe load on the system.
This determines:
The correct MCB rating (typically 16A–40A for home chargers)
Cable size and run method
Whether a mini consumer unit with RCD is required
If a smart charger is needed for load balancing
All work is carried out to ET 101 (National Rules for Electrical Installations).
This protects the home and ensures Safe Electric compliance.
3. Safe Electric Compliant Installation
We are Safe Electric Registered, meaning the work is certified and legally compliant.
We install:
A dedicated circuit for the charger
Proper external-grade cabling or conduit
The charger unit mounted securely & weatherproofed
Load balancing / smart features configured (where applicable)
We complete every installation cleanly, safely, and to the national standards.
4. Certification & Handover
After installation:
We complete the Safe Electric Certificate (Completion Certificate)
We test and verify the charger operation
We show the customer how to use the charger and app (if smart charger)
This proves the installation is safe, registered, and insurable.
6. Ongoing Service & Support
We offer:
Troubleshooting and maintenance
Upgrades to faster chargers or multiple stations later
Load management planning for multi-unit properties
